What is the typical lead time for producing custom activewear?

Update Time:2026/7/16

The typical lead time for custom activewear is 4–6 weeks from sample approval, depending on design complexity, material availability, and order volume. We provide a confirmed production schedule after the sample is signed off so you have clear visibility from day one.

Lead Time Breakdown

Sampling and Approval

1–2 weeks. Includes pattern making, fitting, and sample revisions until the design is approved. This stage must be completed before the production clock starts.

Material Sourcing

1–3 weeks. Fabric, trims, and packaging materials are ordered and verified. Custom fabrics or specialty trims may extend this phase.

Bulk Production

3–5 weeks. Cutting, sewing, finishing, and in-line QC. This is the core production window and depends on style complexity and order quantity.

Final QC and Shipment

1 week. Final AQL inspection, packaging, and loading. After QC sign-off, the goods are shipped according to your delivery terms.

Factors That Affect Lead Time

  • Custom fabric development — adds 2–4 weeks to sourcing
  • Sample revision rounds — each round adds 3–5 days
  • Order volume and color count — larger orders require more production time
  • Seasonal factory capacity — lead times may extend during peak periods

Tip: To minimize lead time, finalize your spec sheets and fabric selections before sampling begins. We will provide a realistic timeline estimate based on your specific requirements.
