How can brands reduce leggings waistband roll-down during yoga and Pilates?

Update Time:2026/9/30

To reduce waistband roll-down, evaluate the waistband's shape, height and tension during movement. First distinguish a waistband folding over from the whole garment sliding downward, because they need different development checks.

What to check during sampling

Waistband pressure changes with posture, so standing fit alone is insufficient. During sampling, compare waistband heights and contours, review top-edge construction, and check whether the waist-to-hip proportions suit your target wearers. Assess stretch recovery after repeated movement and agreed washing.

For yoga and Pilates, have fit testers across the planned size range repeat squats, seated folds and transitions between poses. Record where rolling starts, whether the waistband digs in, and how often adjustment is needed. Avoid assuming that a tighter or taller waistband will solve every case.

Preparing the development brief

Bloomto provides pattern making, size grading and sample fit review. Include your waistband requirements and trial feedback in the development brief.
